Overview

CONTEXT

From 2022, I served as a Design Specialist for multiple offices at Yale University. As part of the experience, I spearheaded over 10 ad campaigns, redesigned 3 brand identities, built 2 websites, and created over 90 brand collaterals.

CHALLENGE

My key takeaway from my experience was learning to balance my style and my adherence to established brand guidelines. Aligning with a pre-existing visual identity required not just creativity, but an understanding of Yale University’s design principles. From this, I learned the importance of not just creating aesthetically pleasing designs but also weaving them into the fabric of a larger, established design ecosystem.

BRAND IDENTITY

The design for Yale Sustainability adheres to Yale’s style guidelines while utilizing graphic elements that add a unique touch. The combination creates a visually captivating and approachable design that conveys both the seriousness of sustainability initiatives and the optimism for positive change.

INFOGRAPHICS

I created a series of infographics that clearly communicated Yale’s sustainability initiatives.

INSTAGRAM GRAPHICS

The Yale Sustainability’s Instagram utilizes hand-drawn illustrations to infuse a playful feel.

I developed each of these projects iteratively with team feedback and collaborated with my project manager, director, and other designers.

The Yale Good Life Center, a hub for promoting well-being and positive lifestyles, embraces a playful and whimsical style.

Yale Admissions Office

THE BRIEF

The goal of this project is to create a series of stickers featuring Yale University's mascot, Handsome Dan, for distribution by the Admissions Office.
